Interventions, Substance Abuse and Addictions Services

Welcome to Rooted in Recovery, your go-to source for addiction and mental health resources.

addiction and sober recovery coachingIn the world of mental health, ‘addiction’ was historically set out as a category of its own. Over time, it has become clear that addictions are embedded at one end of an extended spectrum of interwoven treatable mental health issues that involve the individual with the substance abuse problem and those who share life with that person.

All mental health work has its roots in some form of recovery. Done well, it focuses on helping clients develop resilience and rekindling the desire for a meaningful life. In the addictions world, the language of recovery is no longer limited to abstinence alone.

There are different approaches needed for different clients and different situations. For some people, recovery is best dealt with using the harm reduction model. For others, it is total abstinence: each client is assessed alone and within context. Decisions are made to suit the client in context. We aim to help individuals recover a sense of ease rooted in recovery, recovery from addiction, the impact of trauma, and from unhealthy and unhelpful stories about life.

Addiction is a systems problem.

Healing must have a systems response.

Rooted in Recovery is here to work with the system:
the healing system and the care system of recovery.

One service put together with many elements to treat the whole.

Confidential. Discrete. Comprehensive. Finely tuned. Bespoke.

What is addiction? It is a sign, a signal, a symptom of distress. It is a language that tells us about a plight that must be understood.
